Hurricane Make-up Days

We have revised the 2017-2018 SRCS school calendar to reflect two hurricane make-up days:

  • Friday, October 20, is now a half-day Teacher Work Day (noon dismissal)
  • Friday, February 16, is now a regular, full school day

Washington, D.C. Trip for 8th Grade, April 24-28, 2017

Boys Bash - April 7, 2017

The 2017 Boys Bash was a huge success!  We had 89 participants, including moms, grandmothers, sons, and grandsons at this year’s event.  A huge thank-you to lead volunteer parent Triana Dorland for organizing and hosting this very special event for our SRCS moms and sons! Sweetheart Dance - January 20, 2017

This year's father-daughter Sweetheart Dance was a big success. Thank you to our PTF lead parents, Nicole Coyle, Denise Rossi, and Kendra White, and their incredible team of parent volunteers for transforming our gymnasium into a beautiful winter wonderland!  The fathers and daughters enjoyed delicious food, fun music, and lots of dancing.  A professional photographer was on hand to take formal photographs.  We have posted some of the candid shots from the evening below.    

Sea Camp Trip for 6th Grade: May 11, 12, and 13, 2016

Boys Bowling Bash, April 16, 2016

Sea Camp Trip for 6th Grade, April 29 - May 1, 2015

The 6th graders and their chaperones are having a great time!  Students have been studying ocean life and participating in dissections.  On Thursday, they had swim evaluations and snorkel/diving instruction.  Boat trips were also scheduled for Thursday afternoon.   Enjoy the photos.  Click on any of the Photo Gallery thumbnails to see the full-size image.

Washington, D.C. Trip for 8th Grade, April 20-24, 2015

The 8th graders and their chaperones had wonderful time!  Photos below were taken at Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Washington, D.C.  Some students volunteered at the brick-making place in Colonial Williamsburg to mix the clay with their feet!  In Jamestown, they saw evidence of the faith of our founding fathers.  It was also exciting for them to recognize Newt Gingrich outside of the Capitol Building.  On Wednesday, students visited several Memorials and the Pentagon.  Enjoy the photos.  Click on any of the Photo Gallery thumbnails to see the full-size image.

Literacy Night, February 20, 2015

Our second annual school-wide Literacy Night on February 20, 2015 was a success! It was exciting to see families traveling from room to room engaged in the mystery word jumbles and other fun activities. Our preschool and elementary school teachers did an outstanding job of creatively showcasing student work in their classrooms, while the middle school teachers (and many staff members) dressed as book characters, read stories in the library, and helped out as needed. Students and their families also had the opportunity to be photographed with our school mascot, the SRCS Panther! Grandparents' Day Chapel, November 25, 2014

Over 300 students took part in our annual Grandparents' Day Chapel.  Grandparents were entertained with songs from preschool, kindergarten, and 1st through 4th grades.  Fifth grade students presented a video about Thanksgiving and the Concert Band, Chapel Choir, and Vocal Ensemble gave excellent performances.  An exciting preview of the SRCS Christmas Musical, The Night Shift Before Christmas, thrilled the audience.  Enjoy the photos below from the event.  Click on any of the Photo Gallery thumbnails to see the full-size image.

Operation Christmas Child Chapel, November 19, 2014

On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, SRCS held its Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Chapel.  We are very grateful to the SRCS families who generously participated in this event.  Our Chapel speaker was Donna Pierce, Area Coordinator for Operation Christmas Child.  With the support of our SRCS leads, Rachel Lopez and Danielle Kaempfer, along with the many volunteers who helped with counting, sorting, and driving, we were able to donate over 640 shoeboxes.  In addition, twenty-one middle school student leaders, along with several parents and staff members, went to the OCC Shoebox Distribution Center in Hollywood, Florida and processed additional shoeboxes for shipping.  Enjoy the photos below from the event.  Click on any of the Photo Gallery thumbnails to see the full-size image.

Sweetheart Dance, November 7, 2014

Veterans Day Chapel, November 5, 2014

SRCS held our Veterans Day Chapel Celebration on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in the Spanish River Church Worship Center. Students, families, and attending veterans enjoyed hearing from our enthusiastic and inspirational speaker, former United States Marine Corps Corporal and SRCS parent, David Skrabec. National Day of Prayer
